In the skatepark and in the classroom, Skateistan’s educators guide activities to promote wellness, equality, creative expression, and knowledge of natural sciences. In the skatepark, educators teach students the basics of skateboarding, from how to balance and tictac on a skateboard, to trying new tricks. To help students learn new tricks, our educators start with instructions for the ollie and then progress to tricks like the kickflip, pop shuv-it, and heelflip.
